Are you old like me? Do you remember the PS1 fondly? Did Resident Evil blow your mind back in the 90s? Me too! I wanted to learn how those classic games worked, and try to recreate the classic presentation style myself!

Azumi was voted the 2nd best game of May! I'm humbled that my little demo left such a good impression on people!

I've been working hard since the final demo update to start building the final game! It will be well at least four complete levels with boss fights, one of which is pretty fleshed out and I think will be very surprising!

In addition, I've fixed a few longstanding bugs and tweaked some things to make the game feel even better to play, and will continue to make changes like this as the ideas come to me.

New mechanics for combat are also being added, and I'm currently testing them out to see what ones I like, and which are less than satisfactory. I will be uploading beta builds throughout production to my patrons over on Patreon and SubscribeStar, so if you really enjoyed the game and wanna help shape the final product, I'd really appreciate your input!

I will be starting up my devlog videos in a few days again now that I'm knee deep in production again, so look forward to that!

I'll also be constantly asking for input and suggestions from you guys while I work to make sure I'm on the right path. Your feedback is what makes the game as good as it is so far!

Thank you again, and I'll be in touch with more details very soon!

Back in 2004, Newgrounds showed me that anyone could create video games, but being the self-loathing scrub that I was, I thought "anyone" still meant "not me".

But thanks to code free engines like Construct 3, Stencyl, and GDevelop, more art-centric guys like myself can make games too, and proves that programming isn't as scary as it may seem at first.

If you're like me any always wanted to make games, but thought it was too complicated, here's a video on how to start a Mario-style platformer in just 15 minutes. No coding required.

Uhh, holy crap. Azumi Game apparently got a Daily Feature and was Frontpaged.

And here I was worried it might be blammed hahaha.

Seriously, the outpouring of support and helpful feedback on the game has been fantastic. As someone who probably seriously compromised their college prospects wasting countless hours on Newgrounds back during middle and high school, even having content of my own up on this site is surreal.

Having people give a damn is just plain humbling.

If you wanna follow the further development of my simple kunoichi trash panda, in both games and beyond, I highly recommend following me on Twitter, where I post constant dev updates (and whine about losing in Dark Souls, just got into the series a few weeks ago). If you have any more feedback or questions about the game, feel free to hit me up over there, I'd love to talk shop.

Thanks to everyone who played and believes in Azumi, I will do my absolute best to make your faith worthwhile.
